Resolutions --> Intentions
Resolution...
...meaning "a firm decision to do or not do something".
How many of these have you made over the years? Research shows that approx. 50% of adults make New Year's resolutions, but only 10% keep them for more than a few months.
So how can this time of year be a catalyst for change in a more purposeful and sustaining way?
INTENTION...
...meaning "a thing intended; an aim or plan".
An intention is more flexible and overarching - there are many actions and decisions that can align with an intention, while resolutions often have rigid boundaries that may be more difficult (and less effective) to manage in our ever-changing worlds.
"A well-set intention is a statement of pure, clear, decisive focus that kickstarts the process of aligning your whole being and your whole life to your desire" (from Yoga Journal article referenced below).
